Valentine’s Casual Outfit Idea

This is my first style post, I’ve been coming back and fort about it, because I didn’t know where to start or how to be helpful. I know there must be people getting ready for their valentine’s day dates so I thought to give an idea of what I would wear for a casual date or to go out with my friends. So far, our plans for Valentine’s day includes staying in, homemade pizza and a movie, after we put down Elena to sleep. But I remember the glamorous dates, the anticipation and the excitement of getting ready to go out.

Este es mi primer post sobre estilo, honestamente había estado dándole vueltas, porque no sabía bien por donde empezar o como podría ser útil. Pero sé que hay algunas de ustedes se están preparando para salir en San Valentín, así que decidí darles una idea de lo que yo usaría para una cita, o para salir con mis amigas. Aunque hasta el momento nuestro gran plan para San Valentín es quedarnos en casa, pizza casera y una película, después de que acostemos a Elena. Pero recuerdo algunas ocasiones las citas glamurosas, la anticipación y la emoción de alistarme para salir.

However, as life change so does our style and lately, I’ve been inclining a little bit more the casual outfits than extravagant ones. I don’t see myself getting my moneys worth of a little black dress right now as I used to a couple years ago. So, I try to focus and mix and match pieces that I already own and try to upgrade them pairing it with nice shoes, a cute bag and some jewelry.

Sin embargo, la vida va cambiando y también nuestros estilos y últimamente me he estado inclinado más por los outfits casuales que los extravagantes. La verdad no veo sacándole provecho al dinero invertido en un minivestido negro en este momento, como lo hacia hace algunos años. Así que estoy tratando de enfocar en mezclar las piezas que ya tengo en mi closet y tratar de sacarle potencial combinándolas con unos lindos zapatos, una bolsa llamativa y algo de joyería.

I’m pretty sure there most be a top in your closet that you like, with the one you feel a little extra special, it could be the color, the fit, the print something about. Also, I like to make sure that I feel comfortable with what I’m wearing, this is key to look good. If you are wearing something that you like on the hanger or the mannequin, but you try it on and it just weird on you, that weirdness will reflect to the outside.

Estoy segura de que tal vez ya tengas en tu closet alguna blusa que te gusta mucho y te hace sentir extra especial, puede que sea por el color, o por como te queda, o incluso el estampado.  Y lo más importante con la que te sientes super cómoda, creo que esto es clave cuando compramos ropa, porque muchas ocasiones nos puede gustar alguna prenda por como se ve en el maniquí, pero al momento de probártela algo no se acomoda como debería. Y si no te siente cómoda eso se refleja.

For me that top is this blouse, I have had it for at least three years now and I really like it for this season,  I think it just says romantic all over, the pink tones, the subtle print and those sleeves makes it extra special, and v day approved, and for much more like brunch, lunch, church it is even office friendly, just switch the jeans for  slacks and a pair of nude pumps and you are ready for work on Valentine’s Day. This time I paired it with high waisted distress jeans and booties to keep it causal. But some skinny jeans and stilettos can take it to a more date night outfit.

Para mi esa blusa es esta que tengo desde aproximadamente tres años, y me gusta mucho para esta temporada de San Valentín e inicio de primavera. Creo que tiene un estilo romántico, la combinación de los colores, el estampado es delicado, y las mangas la hacen extra especial. Totalmente aprobada para San Valentín, y para muchas más ocasiones como desayunos, despedidas de solteras, baby showers, apropiada para ir a la iglesia e incluso la puedes usar para ir a trabajar, solo cambia los jeans por un par de pantalones de vestir kaki y unas zapatillas color piel y listo. En esta ocasión yo la combine con Jean de tiro alto y botines manteniendo un estilo casual. Pero para un look más de noche, podría ser un pantalón entallado negro, tacones con una bolsa estilo clutch.

Another thing that for me elevates an outfit is the makeup, lately I’ve been sticking to the pink and nudes colors for my lipstick, but my friend Jane gift me this red lipstick and I’m planning to use it as much possible specially on this month when everywhere you there something red. A bold lip color can make an outfit more interesting. Don’t you think?

Otra cosa que puede hacer para elevar cualquier outfit, es modificar un poco tu maquillaje. Últimamente he estado utilizando labial que van de los tonos rosados a los nude, pero mi amiga Jane me regalo el labial rojo que estoy usando en la foto y me encanto, y la verdad estoy planeado agregar un toque de color a mi maquillaje diario con este labial, en especial en estos días que a donde voltees hay corazones rojos. ¿Definitivamente un color de labios vibrante puede hacer un outfit más interesante, No crees?
